Merlion Park – Singapore

I am sharing about the best destination in Singapore today. I’m going to introduce about Merlion Park Singapore. It is the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore.

The Merlion Park in Singapore which is only sprays water, should be the most iconic and iconic landmark in Singapore!  As long as tourists who come to Singapore to travel, they will definitely come to take pictures with the Merlion. In addition to recording the Merlion himself, this article also sorted out several popular Singapore attractions around Merlion Park.  , You can arrange to play on the same day when planning your trip.

General introduction

Merlion Park is the must-see attraction in Singapore. It is a famous landmark and symbol of Singapore. This mascot represents the Lion City of Singapore and it is erected on the banks of the Singapore River. Tourists will never forget to leave a photo in front of the Merlion. Memorial photo! In addition to admiring the Merlion during the day, there are also beautiful light shows projected on the Merlion Park at night and the night area is even more charming. Be sure to come and enjoy the night view. Should not be missed!

Merlion Park is the smallest park in Singapore and it is located next to the Fulton Hotel, covering 0.25 hectares of ground, with an open deck, so that visitors can walk in front of the Merlion and take as many pictures as they want.  Merlion is a fictional lion head animal. It was designed in 1964 by Mr. Fraser Brunner, then director of the Van Kleef Aquarium. It was adopted by the New Brigade as a symbol two years later and was used until 1997. During this period, the Merlion has become a representative of Singapore, like the Eiffel Tower in France or the Statue of Liberty in the United States.

The fish tail as a city identification of Singapore, representing excellent character such as courage, wisdom, strength, and fish tail lion also symbolizes the hardcoming of the first batch of the ancestors of fighting. The most well-known fishhouses are located in the East Bay of Singapore, which is a preferred attraction of Singapore’s historical culture.

The image of the merlion lion head fish body originated from the title of Singapore in Malay. In Malay, Singapore is called “Singapura”, the meaning of the word is “lion”, which is why Singapore. There is no lion but it is the reason for being a lion city.

This is the another Merlion in Sentosa 😍I will share more about the Sentosa Island on the new blog topic later.

There are 7 merlion statues in Singapore, distributed at the Singapore Tourism Board, Sentosa Island, Mount Faber and Hongmao Bridge, but the most well-known and not to be missed is the Merlion Park near Marina Bay. The Merlion statue in the Merlion Park near Marina Bay is 8.8 meters high and weighs 70 tons. It faces the Eastern Marina Bay and overlooks the Eastern waters of Singapore, symbolizing the spirit of Singaporeans’ continuous exploration. Next to this statue, there is also a small merlion statue, two meters high and 3 tons in weight, which is also a favorite photo place for tourists like me.

Merlion Park and Singapore’s other landmark, Marina Bay Sands, are across the bay and near Raffles MRT Station. The transportation is very very convenient in Singapore.

Singapore’s Merlion Park is directly opposite the world-famous Sands Hotel. The wavy Sands Hotel Casino and Shopping Mall. The Sands Hotel’s water dance show is held on the opposite platform. As one of the most complicated buildings in history, many of them have been completed. The world’s highest record adds legend. The hotel’s most topical top floor, the huge sky garden is equal to 3 football fields. I hope that I can soak in the highest infinity pool in the world and look out at the Merlion next time! There are 21 museums in the museum. There are so many museums in Singapore.

The coconut shell is the Museum of Art and Science. It can only be said that Singapore is worth seeing only in architecture. Moving towards the Merlion Park, the left-hand building is the Binhai Art Center, and the appearance of aluminum sunshades is like a durian. This art center cost 600 million Singapore dollars to build. The inside concert hall and theater are built on a world-class scale. There is also a coastal performing arts library and outdoor performance venue. I really want to go inside and see it next time!

On the top is the Singapore Flyer, a ferris wheel with a diameter of 150 meters. It takes half an hour to make a lap, and the shopping mall below is 165 meters. It is the largest ferris wheel in the world! Rare, but a viewing cabin can accommodate 28 people. There is a gimmick. In addition, you can take a ferris wheel to enjoy a big meal. The romantic price is $328.9 SGD (surprised).

Entertainment at Merlion Park

The fishwish park covers an area of 0.25 hectares, the area is not large, but as a Singapore landmark, a batch of tourists are still attracted to this visit. Next to the statue of fish tail, build a look at the public and tourists. If you don’t hurry, sit on the table to blow the sea breeze, enjoy the graceful scenery of the Singapore Bay, is really comfortable. If you arrive in the Tail Lion Park, it is already in the evening. It may wish to stay slightly, to be dark, the opposite Bay Bay Golden Salagia gives a beautiful light, overlooking the charming night of Singapore. If you are lucky, you can catch up with the citizens who hold music performances or organize events in the Fishwish Park, and feel the customs of the “Lion City”. I remember that when I took a photo with the fish tail, I took a photo of the fish tail lion spurting the water column, which is said to get strength and wealth.

Things to do near Merlion Park

Merlion is located in the Marina Bay area, surrounded by a wealth of attractions, such as the Marina Bay Sands Resort across the bay from the Merlion, with the Marina Bay Gardens, high-altitude observation deck, Art Science Museum and Marina Bay Sands, Waiting for famous attractions in Singapore.

The Sands Hotel deserved to cost US $ 5.5 billion to build. The vast interior of the building is also impressive. Combining hotels, shopping malls, casinos and theaters, many international brands can buy soft hands and spend a few days eating, drinking and having fun inside.  Certainly not boring.

Next to the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, there are also the newly completed Red Dot Design Museum, the Double Helix Bridge, and the Marina Walk.

If you go further, you can reach most of the attractions within 8 stops by subway. Places such as Chinatown, Little India, Orchard Road, Singapore National Museum, etc. that you must visit are all within a four kilometer radius of Merlion Park.

If you want to learn more about Singapore travel information, you may wish to continue to browse other related travel strategies in the article, from family parent to child shopping instructions, from different angles to introduce the itinerary of the city of Singapore.

Feeding the Kangaroos

While i was feeding the kangaroos, i find that it was very fun but sometimes when i was feeding them, they fall asleep and sometimes when I fed them, they were eating and sleeping at the same time. I was thinking that how did they manage to eat and sleep at the same time. Let say if human beings, whenever people seen food is around, people would feel excitement of seeing the food is there and they will get some food to eat so people won’t feel tired and sleepy.

Kangaroos have 2 type of color. They are white and brown color kangaroos. While feeding the Kangaroos around, you will find some interesting things around such as kangaroos pregnant, having babies, feeding babies, cuddling each other, cuddling their kids while sleeping and other.

What I love the most in the Wildlife Park?

Apart from feeding the kangaroos, i love koalas as well. It is reasonable that Koalas are too chubby and I am in love their cute look 😂

How much is the cost of entry?

It will be cost AUD$30 per adult and AUD$23 per students. Students entry ticket is called concessions ticket. You will need to show your student ID upon your visit.

The cost is not that expensive, it is a reasonable price and it is worth to go for explore and discover the wildlife encounter.

Stay tune on my next blog 😉

Botanic Garden

Port Arthur Historic Site

Lancelin and Pinnacles Tour

Briefing about the Lancelin

This picture taken in Lancelin Resort

Lancelin is one of the top tourist attractions in Perth Australia which is worth to go for a visit. Lancelin is a small fishing and tourist town 127 km north of Perth, Western Australia. It is within the Shire of Gingin at the end of Wanneroo Road, and a few kilometres from the start of the Indian Ocean Drive. The best to go in Lancelin would be visit the Sand boarding, Lobster Shack as well as the Pinnacle.

Lancelin has become one of Australia’s premier sandboarding destinations. Featuring pure white sand dunes, over three stories high, with free entry, the Lancelin sand dunes are must on your Western Australian adventure. To hire for the Sandboard, it is cost $12.50 per person.

Sand Boarding

How do you get to Lancelin sand dunes?

The Lancelin Dunes are only 1.5 hours north of Perth and are an easy day trip. Renting a car and self-driving is definitely an option; park at the entrance to the dunes and walk or take your 4 wheel drive all the way to the main sandboarding hill. However, there is an another option which is book for a day tours just for approximately $169.

Some people asked me that is Sand Boarding dangerous? Well, if you’re going to go for sand boarding in Perth, you need to ensure that you have travel insurance. While we made it home safely from the road sand dunes Perth. It can be very dangerous, with accidents happening quite often. But Perth Australia should be fine, however, travel insurance still be a must to have just incase there is anything happen.

When would be the best season to go for sand boarding

In my personal experience, the best season to go for Sand Boarding would be Autumn and Winter which is between March and August. My first photos shown above is what will happened if you go during Spring and Summer season. The sand will flew into your mouth and eyes which is not comfortable at all so I don’t recommended to visit during the spring and summer season.

Nambung National Park (Pinnacles)

Nambung National Park is a national park in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, 200 km northwest of Perth, Australia and 17 km south of the small coastal town of Cervantes. The park contains the Pinnacles Desert which is an area with thousands of limestone formations called pinnacles.

Walk on the moonscape of the Pinnacles, feast on fresh lobster and surf giant sand dunes. Take a day trip from Perth to the other-worldly landscape of the Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park. Following the Indian Ocean Drive, stop to meet friendly kangaroos, try sand-boarding and taste Cervantes’ famous seafood delicacy.

If you’re travelling between July and October, you will see Western Australia in full colour, as the coastal landscapes are filled with the blooms of spring wildflowers.

Rising mysteriously from the dune sands are thousands of limestone pillars, up to four metres tall, a landscape in eerie contrast to the surrounding heath.

Some are jagged, sharp-edged columns, rising to a point; others resemble tombstones. What exactly are the pinnacles? What natural processes have created these odd and spectacular structures?

In places, the pinnacles reach up to 3.5m tall. Some are jagged, sharp-edged columns, rising to a point, while others resemble tombstones. Please treat the pinnacles with respect and never climb on these fragile structures.

Features that provide clues to the origin of the Pinnacles can be seen by the astute observer. For example, many pinnacles display cross-bedding structures, where the angle of deposition of the sand changes very abruptly. This indicates that the dunes from which the limestone bed was formed was originally laid down by the wind.

Some pinnacles have a mushroom-like shape, due to remnants of a calcrete capping. The mushroom shape has formed because the capping is harder than the limestone below it and therefore weathers at a slower rate.

So how did these strange pinnacles form? The coast of Western Australia, from Shark Bay nearly to Albany, has a near continuous belt of Tamala Limestone (probably more accurately called) aerolian calcarenite – ie. wind blown calcium carbonate – which has been produced by the combination of wind, rain and the cementing agent of calcium. A set of unique circumstances produced the pinnacles.

Firstly the huge sand dunes stabilised. The rains which fell on the dunes leached down through the sand carrying the calcium. This resulted in the lower levels of the dune solidifying into a soft limestone. As this stabilisation occurred a layer of soil formed on top of the dune which allowed plants to grow and further cemented the limestone below. Gradually the lowest layer of soil, which lay between the surface and the limestone, formed into a hard cap which resulted in the old dunes having three levels – a soil and plant level near the surface, a hard cap below the surface, and a thick layer of soft limestone at the bottom of the dune. Inevitably the roots from the plants on the top level found cracks and broke up the hard cap and the layer of soft limestone. The result was that under a surface covered with plants and soil the pinnacles developed. No one knows for sure how long ago this process occurred. It may have started as long ago as 500 000 years but equally it may only be a few thousand years old and it may still be continuing today. The Western Australian Museum has opted for some time in the last 80 000 years. Anyway the advent of drier weather in the region resulted in the top layer of plants and soil being removed and gradually the pinnacles were exposed so that today they stand like strange sentinels on a plain of wind blown sand.

How much for the entrance ticket?

$13 entry per vehicle. Contact Pinnacles Discovery Centre (08) 96527 913 for more information when needed. Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre is open daily 9.30am – 4.30pm and well worth a visit and yes, you will discover what is in many of the national parks in our area.

Lobster Shack

Days tour is kinda tiring but it is worth and there have so much fun. Not sure where to have lunch while visiting down Lancelin? Do you love to eat Lobster? Lobster shack had a very good taste Lobster and it is popular Lobster in Western Australia which will be good experience for travellers.

Well, it is 82.5km which is just take for 51 minutes drive.

Cijin Island is a very small island in Kaohsiung Taiwan. Kaohsiung is belong to the Southern area in Taiwan. It is just 15 minutes ferry ride outside the famous Kaohsiung Harbour to the Cijin Island. Although it is a very small Island, this island has become a favorited destination for those people whoever had visiting the city. The island is famous not just only for historical and cultural sites, but also for the fresh seafood around the night market. It really is perfect for any type of travelers; no matter if you are visiting for a hiking trip, sightseeing, cycling, photography etc. Cijin Island has something special for everyone.

Cijin Island is one of those destinations that always has visitors and it is the best tourists attractions in Taiwan, it is because there is so much trip to do in the island. Those who love a good hike usually make their way to the famous Cijin Lighthouse that is located on top of the hills. The hike is not difficult and it is easy to navigate around the trails, so it is very suitable for many people. Cycling around the island is also a preferred activity in Cijin Island; some of the best places that can be explored include the Cijin Windpower Park and the Cijin Seashore Park. Which Month and what season of the year will be the best for visit

There is four seasons in Taiwan. They are Winter, Autumn, Spring and Summer. Taiwan season is totally opposite with Australia seasons. For example, When Australia is on Winter, Taiwan is on the Summer season. Many people are wondering that which season would be the best visit Cijin Island. In my personal experience, the best time to visit Cijin Island would be between September and February of the years. That would be when the summer about to end. It is because Summer is the season of raining which is not able to explore much on the island while raining so it is very best to visit between September and February which was Autumn, Winter and Spring season. I am not recommended to visit between June and August as the weather is too heat with raining. You may wondering that why Winter would be good to visit. Well, Kaohsiung won’t be freezing during the winter. It is totally different with Taipei City.

Please note that during the summer seasons, the ocean wave is pretty strong due to the weather

Introduction of the Cijin Lighthouse

Lighthouse

According to the photo taken above, it is taken from the Lighthouse in the Cijin Island. Aside from the scenery, Cijin is also famous for its historical sites, including the Cijin Lighthouse and the Cijin Fort. In 1883, British engineers built the Cijin Lighthouse, which was used for the military during their conflicts with France. The lighthouse went through several reconstructions during the Japanese colonisation, and it is now open to the public. The Cijin Fort is also a historical site in the island that must be on the itinerary. The fort was originally built in 1720 and has witnessed quite a lot during its time. Since it was destroyed in the war, the fort was reconstructed in 1991 and is now one of the most famous attractions in Cijin Island that offers a magnificent 360 view.

In early 1872 he advised Canadian Presbyterian missionary pioneer George Leslie Mackay to start his work in northern Taiwan, near Tamsui.

He married with Mary Anne Goodall who died on January 1918 of Handsworth on 7 April 1868 in HongKong. They had two sons, John Preston and James Laidlaw Jnr, both of whom later also became medical missionaries.
